The Autumn Term is a busy one as we welcome our new Year 12 students into the Sixth Form.
We held a workshop called “Bridging the Gap” on 12th September for the whole of Year 12 and some of Year 13 which showed students how to engage in independent research and self-study. They were offered practical advice and given simple tools and techniques to enable them to cope with the demands of A Level and to ease the transition from GCSE.
The Parents’ Information Evening for Year 12 parents will take place on Thursday, 21st September. This is an opportunity to gain further information about Sixth Form and to ask questions about any general concerns.
Year 13 are busy working on their UCAS applications and students are visiting universities in preparation for making their final destination choices. A UCAS evening will take place on Thursday, 21st September where parents will be given more information about the application process.
For those students who do not wish to attend university, we offer a wide range of different workshops ranging from CV writing and letters of application to preparing for interviews. This will take place in the spring term. A parents’ evening regarding the process will be held shortly – more details to follow.
Following an excellent set of results in 2017, we look forward to seeing our students achieve their potential in 2018.
